What are Assasains good for?
Hello. I'm going to make an assasain tommorow, but I don't really know what there good for.
I heard there "stealthy"... but how can a simple shadow step get out the way of a spell like metior? What valuble assets can assasains provide to teams, and soloers? Thank-You Ashleigh |

In a team they're nasty buggers. They can blink (teleport short distances) and ergo bypass the tanks allowing them to get right at the spellcasters. I've found that generally Assassins are very good at damage spiking, especially against spellcasters.
Simply put, assassins are good and, er, assassinating. Especially spellcasters. |

They can supposedly put out more damage than warriors (I'm not entirely sure this is true, but it's very possible) but they are much more fragile than warriors. If ANet designed them correctly, they should offer more damage at the cost of durability.

Theyre basically designed for the pwnage of casters. However theyre vulnerable to Warriors and to some extent Rangers.

assasins are like buffed squishees - just get someone to hit him hard (ele, ranger, war, mesmer, necro, monk, ritualist maybe too Oo) and he will either run to safety or die quickly. if you let them do "their thing" they can get pretty annoying.
last time i saw one in TA i just thump-whacked him into pieces - i expected more trouble: maybe lack of unlocks on the enemie's side - time will tell... |

if anybody is familiar with the ranger/necro "touch" build.... imagine A/N, already being at close range, while blinded or something, steal hp and spike damage with no worries, or maby A/Me, with a blackout...

I'll tell you what they're not good for: teaching us how to spell "assassin".

THey would be good at finishing people off too. Let the warrior take down most of the health and then let the assasin come and kill the person quickly.
